Morning verse : Matthew 24:32-39

When COVID-19 pandemic broke out late in 2019, little did we know that it would shut down nearly all countries of the world within 2 months of the outbreak. The Bible cannot be wrong. In our text this morning, Jesus said: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matt. 24:35). The Lord is gradually drawing the curtain on this age. Some may say there had been similar pandemic outbreaks in the past hence what is so special about this? Well, similar sentiments were raised in the days of Noah by unbelievers when it was strange to think of water falling from the sky as rain and so the warnings of Noah were jettisoned at their peril. The Lord will return soon. God is drawing the curtain. In the Words of Jesus Christ, the day shall come like the days of Noah: “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (vv38-39). Let us examine ourselves and be sure that we are eligible to go with Jesus when He returns. To qualify, we are to keep our Kingdom garment spotless and without wrinkle. How ready are you?

Evening verse : Genesis 6:11-14

When God was to draw the curtain on Noah's generation, He gave His reasons. The earth was corrupt before God, filled with violence and all flesh had corrupted the earth. It is the same in the present age. Wickedness pervades the entire earth and there is so much evil and perversion in different nations of the world. God is responding to all these again as He did in the days of Noah. The Lord gave special attention to a man and his family because they stood out in that generation, untouched by the corruption of that age. It was the generation of Noah. Today, God knows a generation that stands out of the corruption on earth; it is the generation of the Church, the Body of Christ. They surely shall escape the wrath of the Lord. Let us strive to remain in the Body and in readiness for the coming of Jesus Christ.
